I've seen people in the forums use colored words? How do you use them? LOL I'm such a noob!

Colored words aren't available in the Quick Reply method here, if that's where the confusion is stemming from (unless you know the code and type it out).

However if you use the normal reply for any thread, there'd be a scrollbox + utility bar available to you--look under the 'Change Color' note for all colors. That's where mostly everyone gets those colors you're seeing. (There are other colors supported in the forum that aren't in that scrollbox like turquoise, indigo and even chocolate.

There is a chocolate color. It's even better than the "Brown" color...which is weirdly not brown (at least to me).

Enjoy the brilliance of colors.

Edit: Research up all the colors you can use in this kind of forum. It's pretty brilliant.
Indigo! Tourmaline! No this is Turquoise. This is Purple... There are also lighter colors of some colors like lightgreen and lightblue. But for darkblue? And darkgreen? What about forestgreen? Yellowgreen? And then fuchsia. Yes it's Fuchsia.
Goldenrod... Which is not Orange! Violet (yeah I'm pink! But I'm violet!)... and even cornflowerblue!

You can actually use "transparent" as a valid color that makes text invisible unless you highlight it.
