I believe you only have to regen if new creatures and such are involved, you definitely don't for this.

Open the save folder in your df 'data' folder. Open your relevant save (region1, region 2, etc), open the raw folder, and then objects. Find the 'tissue_template_default'-file and open it. Search for 'nails' and 'cartilage' and add healing rates to the entries, for instance [HEALING_RATE:100]. Look at other tissues if your unsure how to add it. Save, close, and run the game. Your injuries should heal up when you fast travel. Let us know how it goes.

It worked only for the nose the toe's skin is infected and the skin already has a healing rate so why won't it heal?

And there is a chance of the first adventurer killing the second.

highly likely the adventurer with infection would kill the other,he's a legendary fighter and an adept swordman

But with Dwarf Fortress's randomness, anything could happen!

       I got cocky, since I could never get a REAL quest I got more and more careless around bandits I stopped sneaking into bandit camps and just went with full frontal attack by myself until I paid for it, I was sorrounded by 3 bandits I think a hammerman a bowman and a spear master my character being legendary in all important skills and full clad in steel held them off easily... then disaster struck, the bowman finnaly managed to shoot me somewhere in the leg hitting the bone thus my character was prone and in extreme pain I could no longer hit them due to the pain due to fact that I couldn't go with fight nor flight I accepted my death and died by someone getting a lucky hit.

You know, on the topic of finger/toe removal to stop infection, has anyone considered doing it in the dead of night and then shaking a peasant awake so as to commit suicide?
