http://teacher-story.com/What is it? Well, to be frank, a Webbrowser game which has you playing as a Teacher who's goal is to raise the grades of his students.
How you ask?
BY TEACHING!!!
The game is Turn based as you instruct your students, each turn you have a choice of two "attacks" (or three if you do some on site purchasing) and 4 extra actions. The attacks can range from things like Pop Quiz or even a chalk being thrown at the student anime style. Things like that. Each student has 2 bars, their boredom and their stupidity. Using these attacks to strike at either their boredom or stupidity until they are depleted and thus TAUGHT! You can also use your extra actions to give you boosts and such which doesn't end the turn...
Now I said Turnbased. Thats right, THEY get a turn. A few things can happen, each can have poor affects on your mental health, if they are whispering they ain't listening and thus you are damaged. Take care though, if this goes down they win...
Each Class has a number of turns, and if you make it though the class having defeated all your students you get bonus EXP and such to continue on, where you take a break at the staffroom or at home depending on what time of day it is. Here you can either recover your health, get bonus exp OR you can correct papers of the defeated students to give them extra points in their grades...
Oh yeah, your actual goal. You start each group of students barely making the grade, the first is out of 20. You need to raise their grade to at least 11/20 for everyone, more and no doubt your doing a great job. BUT to make things interesting their position in the classroom depends on how many points to their grade they get at the time they are defeated. At the front? +2, middle Row? +1, at the back +0. So shuffling them in their seats is needed. Be warned though, while when defeated the student will no longer attack you, you can not shift them as they are too busy studying no doubt cause your such a great teacher. AND if your a great teacher, you can even upgrade your home, go from sleeping in a pile of hay to a fourpost bed, no doubt that will increase something...
The game has countless good looking and funny animations for what looks to be nothing more then sprites. And the 8bit music style isn't bad, still have the window open as I write this...
Only fault. Its a web browser game. So look forward to either paying real cash for extra ingame cash to spend on the items to give you more damage to your attacks or a coffee to recover your health or even to move forward in the game. After each class session, as stated before, you go to the staffroom or home, now you have a 5hr wait till next class apparently. You can speed it up with ingame cash, but yeah...
