 An amusing theory.  But I should think a major chink in it appears when you consider that there is no conceited effort to reign in these fortresses whatsoever.  Entire inter-species wars can originate from murdering the caravans sent to visit them, and they can also build up an absurd arsenal and overall wealth and never once be accosted by the Dwarven government over it.

Well, the construction of a successful and functioning fortress is proof that they've been rehabilitated.

No one ever said Dorf Gov't made sense ;)

What? You mean Australia isn't completely populated by criminals? Who'da thought?! Next you'll be telling me that us Canadians don't drink straight up maple syrup, all live in igloos, and ride polar bears through the streets!

I would like if that were true about Canada honestly, I like polar bears.

Anyway, I have trouble telling sarcasm and I wish I could but I can see something's like that at the very least, in any case, I'm sorry if you took any offence or anything, I don't want to sound incredibly patriotic anyway.

I'm Australian and I believe that about Canadians.

But I believe it about Australians. Australians are dicks.

I haven't been able to get a single one of them to play Dwarf Fortress. They're too busy being on welfare and playing cricket.

Where do you live in Australia? I live in Colac so it's actually pretty nice, in any case, people have their own ideas and I can't deny them that.

I'm a south-west boy and have found that while few people are dicks, most of them are indeed too busy being on welfare.

Not too many criminals, though.

Well, they still can't leave the borders of the area the fortress is built in...
