So, I've had this problem for probably almost a month, now.
My wired, USB mouse will randomly disconnect and reconnect, with Windows(I'm running Win 7) telling me that the USB device is not recognized.
It seems to be caused by movement of the wire or the plug, thought I've tested this on several friends' computers and the mouse worked without error. It's not the USB drives themselves, because I tried it with my flash drive and it didn't suffer the same disconnecting problems my mouse does, even with gentle jiggling.
I've tried so many things I found from Google, including uninstalling the drivers and restarting my computer and telling the device manager not to turn off the USB hub to save power.
I started up my computer in Safe mode and the mouse still had the same issues. A couple of the above solutions only worked for a day or so.
Sometimes the mouse will completely flip out and disconnect and reconnect rapidly.
While all this is annoying, that's not the worst part. The worst part is how fucking grating the USB disconnect sound is. Every fucking time it disconnects, my computer makes the BUDUNK sound. BUDUNK BUDUNK. Constantly. While watching videos, not moving my laptop at all, BUDUNK BUDUNK. In the middle of a game of League, BUDUNK BUDUNK.(you have been slain)
I've asked in a few other place, but I got all the same answers that didn't work. This is incredibly budunking frustrating and any help would be appreciated!
EDIT: In case anymore wayward travelers find themselves here, looking for answers, here's how I eventually solved this problem: I got a new mouse. Yaay! The plug of the one I was using when I made this post was really dinged up and that's what was causing the problems I think!
