The longer history goes on a generated world the more werecreatures and vampires are around and the shorter history goes the more megabeasts are around amiright?

Exactly. While sometimes megabeasts can repopulate their numbers, usually they die out quickly. Also, dragons take some time to grow really big.

Also, longer history gives a lot of necro towers, camps and other fun stuff. But town populations get depleted due to some issues and hardly anything happens after a first two or three thousand years.
