And you don't care what area of kingdom management it focuses on?

Even then I can't think of much and I ran tons of google and steam and gog searches on this. There is a real lack of kingdom management out there and you have played most of the good ones. I guess management just isn't that popular.

Have you played Children of the Nile? It's pretty sandbox. It focuses mostly on social classes and not really on a kingdom itself.

Age of Empires?
That's less 'kingdom management' more 'TBS set in the past'

There's Lord of the Realm 1&2 but the management side is light (could be an advantage if you're not looking for something too complex) but it's well integrated into the gameplay as you need to be cautious between managing your counties and raising your troops from those counties in regards to your people ressources, production and overall moral that will then take a hit from losing their manpower.

Old but still very fun. The 2nd one has aged better in my opinion.

Stronghold?

It's less "Kingdom Management" and more "Fiefdom Management" focused mainly on castle building with a dash of RTS.

It can be very sandboxy if you desire. You've got to build a castle, attract peasants and provide for them as you set up your economy, as well as set up your own defenses.

Stronghold is good but it's all about scenarios, and there isn't a good "sandbox" scenario out there, I think.
It's rather limited if you try to play it like a sandbox, I say this because I tried and got sad.
But it is fun and it's one of the medieval RTS's that I most liked since it's not about "throw the biggest army into the enemy and win", you actually have to analyze the enemy defenses and deploy the correct units to breach their defenses.
I remember playing it as a kid and getting lots of forces annihilated by enemy defenses because I just wanted to see things (enemy things) dying.

And farmers: prepare your cows for launch.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

I'd say Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but all I know is that it's in the Chinese area and Grimith has videos of it :P

If you don't mind old games Lords of the Realm II was excellent for its time. (Lords of the Realm III was a totally different beast undeserving of the name).

Stronghold?

Mentionning Stronghold, there's the old SSI game that was named Stronghold too, it was a kingdom management game setup in the D&D rulesets :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stronghold_(1993_video_game)

It was rather good at the time but while i liked it, it had some unique gameplay that may not be everyone taste for kingdom managing and the navigation on the interface was and is still not great

It will run with DOSBox , but i experienced some crashes with it unfortunately on some games

Lords of the Realm 1 and 2 are bundled as Royal Edition on GOG, and on sale for the next day or so less than 3 bucks.

Beat me to it - this would have been my recommendation too.  It's available on GOG (link) for $9.99, and I think also Steam too, though I haven't got it open at the moment to check.
