[Ship of Freaks]

MrWillsauce and I have begun playing a fortress in succession in what I presume is the typical fashion, passing it between us year after year. At the time of writing, I have already played the first year.

I generated the world.

I let it run (with an override on the excessive savagery warning) until the year 420, which was very shortly after the start of the Golden Age.

MrWillsauce chose the embarkation site and prepared carefully for the trip
but not carefully enough....

The intrepid expedition that set out for Bloodboulder had brought plenty of hematite, marble, and oak logs in order to make their tools from scratch but were missing a critical item: an anvil!
But they did not lose heart.

Actually forgetting an anvil? Heh. I'd like to see how you manage to get out of this one.

Pretty easily. Take the ore and flux and etc off of economic stone, build walls, turtle, wait for the caravan, seize an anvil.

Don't even have to seize it, you could, ya know, legit trade for it, or something equally crazy like that.

  I'll agree with him for the reason that elves don't bring anvils... they tried wooden ones and accidentally burnt down a whole forest home, much to dwarven joy.
