I think I see. Unless I downloaded the wrong zip, it appears that the new bodies weren't included in the file.

The game is trying to pull up bodyparts that don't exist, and is having a freakout when it can't find them.

After a quick skimming of the raws, it appears that Mezbul, Ash Kyn, and Kag use only default bodies, so they should be fine.

Did your download come with a bodies file, or is the error on my end?

Well, I added that to the end of entity_default.txt after adding the files, and the game crashed as soon as I tried to finish character creation. I added [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] to creature_destroyers.txt under [CREATURE:BASE_DESTROYERS], made a new world, and the same thing happened. I have other mods in place and haven't yet tried using a clean install to see what happens. What's missing? I admit I'm pretty weak on modding df.

[INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] isn't a creature token. Does it say that somewhere? It's fairly common a mistake.

To be clear, I downloaded this file by IndigoFenix:
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=8093

It includes "creature_destroyers.txt" and "interaction_destroyers.txt" but no body files.

Thanks Putnam, [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] wasn't in the creature file so I added it to see if that made it work. It didn't, so I removed it.

I've only tried playing as the Plague Bringer so far, so maybe that one just isn't going to work yet. I'll try the others. Has anyone else had luck?

Ash, Kag and Mezbul work fine. I crash on the other two.

I was able to play Candleman, Mezbul, and Ash (haven't tried Kag yet). I wonder why candleman didn't crash for me.

If y'all are looking for feedback, I wouldn't rank these guys as exploity enough. As Ash I enjoyed burninating things, but got taken down by cats and peasants. Mezbul starts with a spear, which wasn't as effective as punching and biting, and he got hurt pretty good every time he got hit. The spirit boars are really fun, but the stunning squeal should be an area effect instead of single-target, if possible. So far only Candleman was able to kill a lot of people in town and make it out to move on to another before getting killed by all the non-soldiers, and I think it's because he's fast enough to evade them and most of the time he can one-hit kill a guy by scratching and running.

Area-of-effect is pretty much relegated to having multiple targets.

Sorry, looks like I forgot to include the body file.  I'll upload it later today.

Fixed: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=8093

Also comes packaged with an entity file for easy adventuring.

As for balancing: I was basically going for making creatures that could potentially wage war on an entire civilization, but that it would still be a challenge to do so.  If it's not exploity enough, you can always just scale them up to colossus-size.

Sure enough, adding a zero to Plague Bearer's size seemed to make him invincible against all but soldiers, which is just right. A plague for you! A plague for you! A plague for you!

I guess I could make a world without boogeymen to deal with it, but being unable to do anything at night except hide in a lair or kill sleeping villagers is really annoying.
