My Craftsdwarf is a masochist

So over the course of this fort I've only had one dwarf with Wax Working enabled. I noticed that many of her wax figurines were of 'tiny cavern snails', a modded-in vermin. That's fine - I figured she just had a preference for them.

But she doesn't.

She detests tiny cavern snails.

Has anyone else noticed dwarves going out of their way to depict the vermin they detest, over and over again?

I think they depict things they hate because of a horrid fascination... of course, having them around probably doesn't help their happiness...

It makes sense to me. I can think of a couple of real world paintings paintings that are the same one way one way or another: either by zeroing on on something disgusting or something traumatic: e.g.:

What dwarf ISN'T a machoist? And you think your craftsdwarves have it bad, well mine just made a gold statue of ants.
I like to imagine them as being life-size, an a massive plinth.
