I'm pretty sure dwarven women are already masculine, so roleplay is not really a problem.

In my fort right now, it actually IS 50/50 exact (actually 55/55 because there is 55 of each gender).

I don't usually pay attention to the gender ratio of my forts, though it tends to be on either side of 50/50, like 60/40 or 40/60 ratio I think.
