Help! One year with no migrants or caravan
« on: November 11, 2013, 10:22:33 am »

Had a successful dwarf caravan year 104. Caravan 105 was ambushed and nearly destroyed. The remaining 3 traders went insane. It is now spring of 107 and ive received no migrants or caravans. It is worth noting that NONE of the friendly civs sent a caravan in 106. If I remember correctly I did not trade successfully with any caravans in year 105. They all lost at least one trader to ambush and promptly left.

Did I offend my home civ or something? How can I restart trading with my home civ? Im not worried about the other friendly civs.

Perhaps they all died? If they did than... well... arent you out of luck.
Any leaders listed for your home civ?

If you were under siege at any point they normally would have appeared, they wont show up.

As for migrants, what is your population vs pop cap. Or do you have anything near 3000 or so on your dead units list?

Yes the civ still shows a general, 4 ladies, and a king. It also still shows my trade agreement from 104.

Does pop cap include kids and babies? I have 91 adults and had 99 at the time the liason was around. My cap is set to 100. I have kids capped at 20. So if kids count then i would have been over.

And the siege thing is a good point. I have had quite a few. However, none have lasted for more than a full season. Or could that still be long enough to block a caravan?

If you've got the sovereigns (gold coins) you could try inviting immigrants/trade caravans in the embassy. It might not be a long term solution (unless doing so causes them to send more), but it's better than nothing, right?

Are the area you are embarked in and the home civilization connected by land?

Yes I am connected to my home civ. World is one large landmass. And I checked the pre embark screen for connectivity.

I summoned a dwarven caravan from the embassy and it came from a different civ? Is this normal?

I also invited a migrant wave but none have shown thus far.
