Assassination of leaders

What will happen if you break in caste or wherever is civilization leader is and kill him/her, what will happen? he will be replaced? when?

Slain civilization leaders will be replaced when the next update comes out, I think.

well I believe in the next patch Toady mentioned there were some problems with corpses being found and civs realizing they have no leader left.. but in the current version I'm sure they wouldn't magically come back to life, but as for who becomes the new leader I have no idea! you'll have to go kill one to find out!

In the current version, only your dwarven civ will replace slain kings/queens with another random dwarf that just happens to be alive.  Adventure mode assassinations lead to you being universally hated by all that nation's members and allies, but no new king/queen is crowned.

Yea that sucks, you have such a great hero that you changed era, then you accidently hit peasant in leg and youre being hated by almost whole world.

that's why you switch to spar*

*switching to spar is only accessable through dfhack, doing so allows you to lightly tap any peasant you see fit, sadly this doesn't stop them from counter attacking you and horribly beaten to a pulp for now becoming the enemy of so many nations.
