Your body's appearance changes according your physical attributes (which can be grown). There is a fat level (have you been over-eating or starving) and muscle level (I belive it's drawn directly from attribute strenght). I guess other things can't be changed.

You can also get scars and burns, along with lost limbs.

I'd love to cut my hair into a mohawk. Lulz, but I wouldn't ask any of my companions to do it.

You can apparently melt all your fat off. Not something I personally do, but I've heard that it's a good idea, as it makes you fireproof.

My first Legendary Adventurer was fire-hardened repeatedly, I made a few campfires and layed on them till I started melting... It's a lottery, you never know if you'll bleed out... But he literally had no fat or skin. Tough fella, managed to slay most of the werebeasts, chimaeras, dragons and titans in 17x17 high monster population island. But a Demon F%#$ his nervous tissue in right hand, couldn't hold a shield properly, so I retired the guy. I don't know if his awesomeness was caused by melting his goddamn body off, but it's possible  :D
