Burnt Land
« on: September 16, 2013, 08:02:53 pm »

First of all, this is my first post here. I've been playing Dwarf Fortress for years, and have in the past had a different account, but the last time I posted on it was a long, long time ago.

Secondly, the question. My aboveground fort has suffered from a catastrophic fire that spread across every tile, which was actually kind of neat to watch, but it left every aboveground tile a smoldering pile of ash. Will grass EVER grow back on these tiles, or are my dwarves doomed to live in an ashy wasteland? It's also 100% mountain, using the embark everywhere utility.

I had to create a new account for my own reasons, I was once a Bay Watcher like you. Now I am but a lowly Escaped Lunatic.

If you have DFhack, you might be able to force the grass to regrow.
