So it seems to me that vampires are invincible? in adventure mode the people keep giving me quests to track down vampires but when ever I do it ends with me not being able to hit it at all are certain things required to hurt vampires?

So there's nothing special I need to do to be able to injure a vampire? like silver weapons or something silly like that, as in will normal weapons work?

Normal weapons will work.

If you find the vampire in a village, as you often do, you can usually just step back and let the townspeople mob it.
