Usually I take whatever the RNG gives me, with the exception of renaming the miner / woodcutter squad to 'The Broken [Something]' so I know not to use them for anything I'd like responded to this month. Fortresses and group names tend to get whatever neat thing I pulled out of the name creator at some point in the past. My current fort is Stardrowned, run by the dwarves of The Thin Sky, and once we get fortresses that can communicate with each other I'll add Moonshield / The Silent World of Stone and Deathaura / The Days of Grease (that last part is to be blamed on scribal error). Plus whatever else I can dig up.

In particular, I hate the double past participles, like "Boltedcrafted." For the record, either Boltcrafted or Boltedcraft would be fine with me.
I do it the other way round. 'Boltedcrafted' just seems to flow better.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Sometimes I make my own or I'll roll the random name generator for fortress and group names to see if I get one that I like.
