You wake up from your sleep slowly, to the sound of faint mechanical hissing. The air swims before you, as if you were looking through water- But after a moment, that fades.

The hissing does not.

Your hand twists, and you press the button that releases your restraints. As the straps and inflated padding recede back into the 'Bed' you had slept upon, you pry yourself up. You feel... Weak. Weak and sore. That was to be expected, considering what you've just done.

What you've just done. You bolt upright, and look around you. It... It actually worked! Colony Ship Ikarus 01's flight went off without a hitch! You feel a sudden sense of elation, of joy. They had said you were insane, that you would die for certain. Well, you'd proved them wrong, hadn't you?

You settle back in your bed for a moment. You've done it.

What do you do next?

[] Check the ship for damages. It's been a long flight, and there are sure to be a few nicks and scratches.
[] Send a message 'Home'. It's probably been, like, a million years, but you've shown them all!
[] Wait, weren't there some other people who came with you? Meh, no worries- They'll probably be fine.

First off, this game is going to use the 'Quest' format.

If you're not familiar with that format, it's simple- The players vote on the actions of the character. Whatever vote gets the most support wins, and that's what the character attempts to do.

Voting format is simple-

[X] "Vote"
-->[X] Minor variation to vote.

I am considering weighting well thought out and explained votes to be 'Worth' more then simply posting a vote on it's lonesome.

This quest will be Mirrored on at least one other site. If anyone here frequents Spacebattles, I'd like it if they mention it [assuming they don't use the same name on both sites] so that I don't accidentally count their votes twice.

I assume that despite the phrasing, option 3 really means "check for survivors."

We're a colony ship with suspended animation hibernation pods. Home is far enough away that they won't get the message for a while. Checking the ship for damage is all well and good...but broken mechanical systems can be fixed. Dead people can't. The ship's computer has clearly had some sort of error...and if it's broken in such a way that the other hibernation pods aren't being supplied with life support there might be a very limited window of time for us to deal with that and pull people out so they don't die.

Checking for survivors is the first priority.

Though, we may also have a limited window to send that message if the mechanical systems are down or we're about to crash land.

After a few seconds of sitting around, your attention is drawn to the hissing noise. That doesn't sound good, actually- You're fairly sure that you didn't include anything that should be hissing like that where you're at.

You step out of your climate controlled chamber, and immediately notice a faint sulferous tang to the air. You frown, and track the sound back to it's source- One of the air reprocessing pipes has burst, and the air it is pumping through itself smells like rotten eggs. You quickly hunt down a patch to cover the broken section of pipe- And when you can't find something intended for the job, a bit of duct tape and some fast drying plastic from the fabricator's stores makes an acceptable substitute.

Once you finish, you head to the control room just off of the stasis chambers. If that pipe had ruptured, then what other damages had occured in the meanwhile? You pause as you pass the other chambers. There is a loud thumping, almost as if-

You look into one of the chambers, and find one of your fellow colonists beating on the button that is supposed to release his restraints frantically. You blink, step back out, and make your way to mission control. Where is it... Ah!

You hit the mechanical override switch labeled for passenger restraints. How fortunate you'd noticed- If your fellow passengers had been left for too much longer, they probably would have suffocated or something.

As you look the control room over, something strikes you. The security cameras that are SUPPOSED to be hooked up to here are almost all offline. The three that aren't are the feed for the control room, and two for outside of the ship. Looking more closely at the feed from outside, you wince- The Icarus, it seems, decided to crash-land in a lake. A relatively large lake, at that. You're going to need to fabricate some boats to get to shore.

"DAMN IT DAMIEN," Ah. And there's your partner in this venture, the brilliant Ms. Amelia Tesla. "You couldn't let us out sooner? I thought I was going to die!"

[] Well, there was a distinct possibility of death from the very start, so you're not quite sure what she is complaining about- But you think it's probably best if you apologise anyway.

[] These video feeds are broken, and Amy was always better with electronics then you were- So she can go ahead and fix them, while you go check on the kitchens and make sure that they're okay.

[] Hey, are those dark shapes moving in the water outside? Huh, so there's almost certainly native fauna here. Do you think they could be edible, Amy?

[] Now that everyone's alright, it's time to send that message home. Preface- Dear doubters, this is why you can suck it~

Strange that the only cameras up are the control room and a couple outside. Is there a chance of sabotage? (does our character think such a scenario is feasible? & if so, do we have any small arms?)
Why does it occur to us to check on the kitchens?

Apologize to our GF partner and explain we got there as fast as we could, though moving on, these cameras are down, isn't that weird? Also, see about running a system scan instead of having to check everything manually.
Getting our situation stabilized/established is more important that telling earth to suck it, (at the moment).
