Take it down a notch, guy (terrible pun intended).
Somebody really needs to go to their happy place and pet their power animal for a bit....
Yeah I guess I'll just wait for... I think Scrumbleship might be the closest equivalent? Assuming it adds certain features? In three or more years? Has development even been moving with at all with it since I checked last year?

I'm better off learning C# and making something in Unity before then, which actually sounds like a great idea excepting I'd already maxed out my productive hobby time with prior commitments. I know MATLAB pretty well, how hard can it be? harharhar

Corneroids is worse since Mikko even opened up donations to help him dev the damn game he just runs off.
Not just that. He pretty much never ever put out dev updates, excepting a release. Then it's a cycle of "Did he died?" "No, no, hold on it's coming". "No no guys we just have to wait." "Guys surely Mikko will deliver". "We just have to wait".
Slowly everyone just left.

Had Mikko actually "Hey guys, I just got hired as a fulltime developer and I'm really not working on Corneroids anymore"
Then by now we'd probably have a fan-project version about were the official one left off.

I still have two hopes though. Either someone that remains with the programming skills and interest finally concedes that it's dead and starts a fan-project, or Mikko suddenly remembers he left his project in Limbo and either releases the source or has a surprise release that would put Half-Life 3 to shame.

well, Starmade shows promise I think and if the 0x10c community continuation, you know, continues then there is much hope for a complete version of minecraft in space!

That's like saying there is much hope for the FPS genre that, even though Half-Life 3 isn't being made, at least Halo lives on.

There's a set of features and unfinished implied gameplay that is/was separate from the other Space-Voxel games in development and they don't seem to plan on implementing them any time soon. I'm certain I will be enjoying StarMade, 0x10c, Scrumbleship and the rest in a few years down the development road, but none of them are Corneroids.

And it's "Space-Voxel" or related phrases, not "Minecraft in Space". Why must every voxel game be "Minecraft X". It shared more in common with Infiniminer than Minecraft anyway.

well despite clearly missed use of hyperbole, I did not find corneroids to be that good (you are entitled to your opinion) at all, AND I will call the game whatever I wish, you do not get to dictate or define a genre. My statement was made in friendly overtures, but if you choose to take it as if it was highly contentious then I shall do the same to your unnecessary rebuttal and retaliate with an even more unnecessary rebuttal.

That's like saying there is much hope for the FPS genre that, even though Half-Life 3 isn't being made, at least Halo lives on.

...what's your point? I entirely agree with the above statement, Halo is one of the few FPSes I like and think is above the rest of them.

There's a set of features and unfinished implied gameplay that is/was separate from the other Space-Voxel games in development and they don't seem to plan on implementing them any time soon. I'm certain I will be enjoying StarMade, 0x10c, Scrumbleship and the rest in a few years down the development road, but none of them are Corneroids.

...and corneroids is neither of those either. you act like corneroids was amazing.

And it's "Space-Voxel" or related phrases, not "Minecraft in Space". Why must every voxel game be "Minecraft X". It shared more in common with Infiniminer than Minecraft anyway.

...while you are entitled to your opinion i'm afraid it is entirely impolite to force your view onto others, as I said: If I want to call it minecraft in space im going to do that, deal with it or look away.

Spoxel games. All these damned spoxels everywhere. That's what we should call. To make everybody happy, hey, maybe even call them Spoxelcrafts.

While drawing conclusions for what might happen with a certain project from different, failed projects that only share one thing with the project in question (namely, that they are picked up by the community) is entirely valid and you should totally do it because it makes you look intelligent, clever and witty instead of a bitter, jaded fanboy, the 0x10c game (and the fan reboot) had something that no other Spoxel game had: a fully emulated 16 bit computer which allows you to interact with your ship in ways rarely seen before in games. It's an interesting and unique idea that separates it from most other Spoxel games.

Okay, there might be another game like it (this is the internet, and it would not surprise me in any way), but find me it and link me it, so I can use my ZX Spectrum to conquer SPEEHS. My searching skills have failed me so far, so my conclusion is that there is no game (concept) quite like it.

Oh, and the fan developers said that they won't be using cube voxels. Just FYI.
