I have come across the RPG Only war recently and I really like the sound of it and how you could play the game. I have always really loved the 40k Universe and the fluff so playing as a imperial guard seeing the worst of the worst and not being trained to handle chaos or the other big bads could be really fun.

I will be GMing this for a long time ( this will be my first game to GM ) the game I have set out in my head will be very grimdark and your characters while being very important and I want you to invest a lot of love into them can die in an instant if you make a horrible mistake.

So I'm making this thread to see if anyone else would be interested in playing - due to the nature of the game I can mix and match players for missions and other things for the game. The game will be semi sandbox with forks and you will effect the outcome of the story and it's ending ( there will be an ending )

I would also like to take on another GM if anyone else would be interested, if not that's fine if people just want to play.

I have all the supplements you will need to play if you are interested contact me on steam and I can send them to you. I will also be making a steam group for this as well.

Games will be played through a mixture of steam and TS3 ( TS used to chat and out of character ) the platform we play on may be subject to change if I find a better one.

Colony of Talforn

The imperial guard have been shipped down to the planet Talforn which is currently a well standing Tau colony, your job is to destroy the colony and claim it under the emperors banner.

Current time spent on the war - 1 year

Regiments deployed - 119th Cadian " Hammer fall" siege regiment, 20th Tallarn " Night lords" light infantry and the 99th "Emperors final chance" Penal legion.

Planet - Talforn: A desert planet with small quantities of water and a thriving centre of trade for the tau.

Current state of operations - One main base of operations has been set up for the invading guards, the tau have been caught off guard and the war could go either way right now.

The Players play as a platoon of the 99th penal legion and have recently been dropped into the fight.

Squad 1 :

1) Pendragon - Squad leader

2) Vellum - commissar

3) Evro - Rattling

4) Terry - Medic

5) Dom3k - Engiseer

Penal legion starting equipment - ( currently being decided but don't expect much )

With Only war I think you roll random stats anyway ? If not that's how my current group have done it anyway. Also do you have the core rule book ?

Well, while I have no experience with this game, I would be interested in playing as a psyker, or considering a lack there of because penal legions, would also be interested in playing as (surprsingly) a guardsman (if penal legions conscripts can be considered even that).

Urist you can play as a psyker, can work in a back story on that on why your there.

Also sounds good, I might have to get back to you tomorrow though if I don't reply I have to sleep for work, but I can give you all the source material you will need as well .
