Using Floor Hatches as Vertical Flood Gates?
« on: February 29, 2008, 05:49:00 pm »

Here's my question:

Is it possible to transfer water from a resevoir on a top level to a resevoir on a bottom level resevoir using a floor hatch rigged to a lever?

I've been trying to do this, but so far haven't been able to. I might be doing something wrong. But I made sure to channel a tile on the top resevoir so that a connection between it and the bottom existed, before fastening a floor hatch to it and rigging it. I've gotten the floor hatch to open and close, but the water will not drain out of the top and into the bottom.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find any results on the search.

It sounds like it should work... you've made a shaft going all the way from the top one to the bottom, right?

Figured out what I did wrong.

I used channels to connect to create an open space drop zone, figuring that would work.

I tried using stairs to connect the two instead of a channel, and it worked fine.
