LCS Question
« on: July 16, 2013, 05:35:50 pm »

Is. It. Worth. The Download.

I've played LCS quite some time ago, but it really didn't tickle my fancy if youknowhatImean.

If you guys could tell me how you thought of it, and such, I may give it another try.

Uh, I know LCS contains dating, but it isn't actually that sort of game.  Sorry if you got the wrong impression.

That said, unless you're on a ridiculously restrictive internet plan the download is tiny so you should just be able to try it out with minimal investment.

No, I didn't mean it like that. I just meant it's kinda a one play and it gets boring kind of deal. Not...sexual..

I find it fun, interesting, unique and satisfying to my twisted fantasies of uprooting the current social order.

But I've played rogue-likes with convoluted control schemes and learning curves in the past. I can control LCS like a pro now, knowing beforehand what key presses will do what, without having to read through the whole screen to find what I want.

I find it hard to recommend universally a game with no graphics. But it really is really fun. Even if you don't like these simple rogue-like-like games, this one might just be your gateway drug to some adamantium pits or somesuch. ;D

I have it, I just don't know what to do. Like, how to send entire squads out? If I was to choose 'C' for everything, and I recruit 2 to 3 new liberals, they all act as their own squad.

That. Bugs the hell out of me.

(R)eview Liberals, pick a #number for an active squad, pick who you want in it.

Now everyone should be able to go forth and fight EVIL.

Thanks so much. Without that, I would've never gotten into LCS.

This is how my first real run-through went.

I started with a Liberal nicknamed Dark Core, reasons unknown. He got 2 hippies in his liberal squad, but they were taken down due to arrest.

They were released 2 months later, with heart intact.

Dark Core recruited 5 others for the squad. We got our funds into the good 20,000 range, then we began malicious acts, such as hacking and disobedience.

Soon after that, we had defaced at least 340 government sites, forums, etc, and were on top of the Conservatives world, or at least that's how I saw it.

Our primary safehouse began attracting unwanted attention, gaining heat by the week. Soon, we were up to 50% of heat. So, I split the squad into two, the L.C.S. Leader Squad and the L.C.S. Primary Squad. One went to LA, and the other went to DC, where I wanted to have the Primary squad interact with the president somehow.

We began gaining heat faster, until we were siege'd by SWAT teams.
Dark Core - 340 accounts of unlawful access to information systems, 12 accounts of resisting arrest, and 3 accounts of interference with interstate commerce.  Sentence - GUILTY

Dark Flyer - 200 accounts of unlawful access to information systems, 10 accounts of resisting arrest, and 3 accounts of interference with intserstate commerce. Sentence - GUILTY

The rest went the same way, with little differences.

Thanks for the help!

Tip: Always have your LCS founder be a goody two shoes, so even if almost every member get's busted and executed by the Conservative machine, you can still rebuild the LCS.

Oh come on, that's boring. Have your founder run around, punching conservatives to level up his skills, and running away. Do this over and over again, and your founder will be a veteran liberal capable of killing a conservative with a few punches in no time.

Second run through - Took about 10 In real Life hours.

Here's the Story.

--Liberals--
Max Nixon, A.K.A. Max Blade, at end game known as 'Elder Liberal' - Survived the whole time, dying in mid 2040, however, he had 5 Consecutive Life Sentences  This was the first L.C.S. Member.

He is the main figure, so I'll talk about him.
The squad was named L.C.S. Forever, and started in 2007. He recruited 4 hippies at start. They all began working on gaining Liberal Funds and Juice. We had 9000 dollars and rising only 3 months later.  In the next year, real things began happening...

2008 : Having 10 recruits, a Revolutionary, and 9 Social Threats, we decided to spread into other states. I sent 4 Social Threats along with a higher-skilled Liberal, so they will have a leader.

We spent 4 years gaining juice and recruits, along with Liberal Death Squads to make the Conservatives know we're here. This gained their attention quickly.

2012 : We stopped paying for a petty Apartment Block, so we spread out to different abandoned factories, giving them each fortified compounds, Business Fronts, and Generators, and rations. This made us practically untraceable.
During the year of 2012, I made a squad with stealthy Liberals break into a genetics lab, releasing the animals and stealing lap-tops. We spent 2 years letting everything calm down.

2014 : 2013 was a fruitful year for L.C.S. Forever. We had recruited 4 others, mainly computer experts and locksmiths. We used the laptops gained in late 2012 to begin hacking and gaining information. We used the printing press to start the Liberal Guardian and spread the news of the corrupt Conservatives. Later this year, we recruit a Judge and make them a sleeper agent.

2018 : Max Nixon, the leader and founder of the Seattle Division of L.C.S., was arrested for 12 counts of murder, 15 accounts of violence, and arson. Since we had a sleeper Judge, he was given a lovely 5 life sentence...sentence. He was released in 2031.

2023 : The L.C.S. was slain by a gang.
...
...
...

2031 : Max was released from prison, having nothing but the compound to call his own. He recruited more, making up for the loss of L.C.S.S.D.

2045 : Max was killed in a prison raid. No one else had the courage to lead. He was...too great.

That's the history of the longest and most fun runthrough of LCS for me. I love this damn game.

STATS -

We Are The Second Generation Liberal Group
The Liberal Crime Squad was mobbed in March 2045.
Recruits: 32          Kills: 46     $ Taxed: 304140   Flags Bought: 2
Martyrs: 29     Kidnappings: 2  $ Spent: 269540   Flags Burned: 2

Take a look at your first post.  Then take a look at the last.  It's oh so rare of a conservative automaton to enlighten so easily.  Glad you like the game!

I guess that first post was when I looked at it and it was like playing Dwarf Fortress for the first time.

It's easier, but then again, it's still hard. And I'm glad.

I have my founder always be a legal genius. Whatever kind of shit they get arrested for, they can always fast-talk themselves out of it.

Kidnapping is like gambling, you think you're on top and its fun building a sleeper army and having Navy SEALS join your squad until RNG screws you over and then real shit happens fast. Glad you like the game, I personally play it during school when I need a break.

I've played Liberal Crime Squad for years and love the game. I've tried playing Dwarf Fortress but it's way too confusing and I have no clue about that game so I just gave up on it. My sister's ex-husband likes playing Dwarf Fortress though. (Don't worry, that's not the reason they got divorced.)
