Help on getting a "good" forum game
« on: July 25, 2013, 11:20:42 am »

Well...I'm having trouble getting and keeping a good forum game running for long. Does anyone want to help. I mean, it's starting to get annoying that I can't get any good threads. Maybe I'm just not good enough at it?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T GET GOOD THREADS

* LordSlowpoke looks THINGS up.

sir you care too much about the players

you need to not give a singular fuck about the players unless it's about making them cry mercy (or just cry, freeformschooler style)

try less narration until the game speeds up - you'll give less fucks when you stop giving a damn about an investment you barely put any effort in than with a novel made out of walls of walls of text which is too daunting a read for anyone but the most masochist interested caste of bay12ers

also your threads are good but you get bored of them just like me

speaking of which i should probably revive greatwyrmgold's games that was a pretty decent thing

Look here, maybe you'll find something.
Remember, the good games are the ones that people want to return to. They need something that keeps them thrilled or otherwise engaging.

Your Rogue A.I. game wasn't successful since there was no risk associated with it, so there wasn't really that much of a point playing it. It also lacked detail.

While I don't claim myself to be the king of forum gaming, my Skeletal Dragon ASG, due to my (downright terrible) narrative and (predictable) plot twists keep people coming back. Plus, you don't see games where you play as a dragon skeleton with ice flesh everyday.
