Let's Blindly Shadowrun!
« on: July 25, 2013, 09:48:25 am »

So, thanks to the glorious and iridescent Hemminjay (who I believe is actually a beautiful peacock man) I've obtained Shadowrun Returns!
http://harebrained-schemes.com/shadowrun/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/234650/

The game is Singleplayer, strangely for something built of a tabletop, and aside from that I only know what I've read in the 4e books!  Given that these games are rarely actually similar to their tabletop versions, I expect nothing.

So that in mind, I'd like to make something in the rigger or street samurai variety (for those unaware, that'd be remote drone user, or cybernetic juggernaut) and see how blinged out I can make my vehicles, drones, or myself!

Download will start in 3 hours, after that we'll see!

I've been curious about this game.  It seemed a bit too linear for my tastes, so I'd like to see how open this shadowrun world really is.

Nevermind, game is a bit of a joke compared to what it wants to call itself.

That's a letdown. I was fairly interested in seeing a new Shadowrun game come out, but I guess this one isn't that awesome then.

It's definitely not a game you can make an interest LP of, due to the extreme linearity.

LPs need some choices in gameplay.  If I were to attempt this, the choices would entirely consist of 'do I shoot them with a rifle or a shotgun?' and maybe some snide commentary from me.  Without any applicable side-quests or free-roam, there's just nothing to make choices on, and no places to make bad decisions!

I think you're confusing a Let's Play with a Community Game (or maybe I am, I'm going off of this). So sarky cometary is a must, while choices are optional (no pun intended.)
