Rotpalm, Isolated, Migrant Free -Kobold Camp-

So I decided that I was going to make an embark, and have absolutely no migrants aside from the first two. I also decided to make consistent posts so that you can challenge me ohgodwhy to force me to do stuff and learn as a Dwarf Fortress player. I'm playing as the filthy disgusting cretins Kobolds, part of the Masterwork Mod, who can only eat meat, and cannot dig through stone, but may dig through ore. I'll accept one challenge at a time, and please make them doable. I may ask for help for some challenges, just due to my lack of knowledge about stuff. Don't worry about the mod too much, the basics are all there.

Current Challenge: Survive on hunted meat for 1 year.

I don't know how Masterwork kobolds actually work, but I'd get a livestock breeding pen up and running if they're strictly carnivores. Or get some hunters.

No, the first challenge should be only hunting for food, no domestication or the like.

NRDL, seeing as you've actually issued it as a challenge, I guess that's my first one. xD I'll survive on hunted food for a year, but after that's up i'll use the animals I already have.

My machete wielding kobold was able to take down 3 giant wombats. It has given me enough me to last me quite some time. Hopefully more come around before I run out, as everything else is a giant carnivore. >.>

Also, i'm apparently under siege by silverfish. Put a hatch to seal them out while I figure out what the heck i'm trying to do.

Welp, I slacked off for a bit, whoopsies. xD

Anyways, a few developments have occured. Lost Enono, one of my two military 'bolds to a freak accident involving him falling apparently.

And the ogress I brought along?

Anyways, collected over 400 bits of flesh for my 'bolds, so i'll consider NRDL's challenge completed. Anyone else got a challenge?

Anyhow, my challenge is to capture several different animals in cage traps. Kobolds are really good engineers/tinkers right? So it should be no problem!

Good challenge. Any specific number or what I should do with them?

Might I suggest that you mention this is a Kobold fortress somewhere in the thread title?  Seems to be an important detail.
That'd probably help.

Also, i'll 'Bold people up now, seeing as I have a fair amount of kobolds to do so. Just tell me who wants one.

I must make a note to buy some cats from traders at the next opportunity and see if I can chain up a breeding pair someplace clean. Having kittens wandering the hallways will be a good way of identifying patches of paralytic poison that still need to be taken care of.

Its easy. The first 2 spells they can do automatically. 3 spells you can teach them with common materials as reagents. The other 12... you have to steal from orcs and frost giants a lot. You get "mojos", each one gives one new spell. The thing is: You get random mojos from stealing, so getting every single one is quite a challenge. And of course the orc and frost giant sieges. ;)

It was the first thing that came to mind. Sounds easy, is actually very hard to accomplish.  8)
