So i found out a few days ago about a site called "somethingawful.com" which is notorious for several things like being assholes. An i was going to back away until i found out that their site actually had an LP section which people tell me is one of the best out there. So my question is the following is 10$ worth getting an account on these forums?

Also for refrence their VERY WELL KNOWN for kicking people out almost as soon as they get an account made.

If you plan on posting at all, probably not worth it. If you just want to read the LP's... probably not worth it either, a lot of them are mirrored on other sites, and the paywall isn't up for months at a time so you should be able to just wait to read the updates.

Most of the 'bans' is just a probation. You lose posting privileges for a certain amount of time, but can still view threads.

If you want to post, it's recommended you lurk(a lot) to pick up on how the community does things. They hold to a very strict 'make sure your post has content' rules. Oh, also, your posts are expected to have proper grammar and spelling, although a few problems here and there wouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to proofread posts before you send them.

Only if you do something really really cruddy do you get banned. Usually, again, multiple probations will come first. Or... you're just a really really bad person, and should consider what went wrong in your life and how you should fix it.

Basically: Have neat and clean posts, and don't break the rules too badly. And at most you'll get a probation. Constantly ignore probation reasons and don't improve on why you got probated: whoops there goes tenbux. Post something like this, all the time? You'll be fine. Banhammer's not gonna come if you think before you post.
