Artifact Clothing
« on: June 13, 2008, 03:22:00 pm »

My clothier just made an artifact thong (complete with rather kinky spikes).

I just wondered if anyone is likely to wear it and what the effects would be if they do - ie will it make them happy, and will it wear out, and if so will that cause the maker to be unhappy?

It's my understanding that artifact clothing will wear out if worn, and if it does eventually decay, that will make the artifact maker very unhappy. So you're probably best off forbidding the artifact. :\

Which, I believe, wouldn't be nescessary in the case of a 'thong', for it is not worn by dwarves

Yeah. Make sure none of those creepy tree-huggers get their hands on it though.

...now I have the mental image of elves wearing menacing spiked thongs, thanks.

Not sure if it's a good thanks or a sarcastic thanks yet, the good images are still warring with the bad ones.

My, that is a rather good looking thong.  We elves shall trade you for it-

The dwarven economy is just a stand-in, from what I understand. As it is, it represents an actual economic system about as well as poison ivy represents a salad.

Uh...  Dwarves do wear thongs...  They  just can't make them under normal circumstances.

That means that they can't make them under normal circumstances.  They'll still put them on if they fit.

For the purposes of DF, this is a 'thong':

quote:

thong -noun

1. a strip of material, esp. of leather or hide, used to fasten or secure something.

Wrong definition of thong...

2.A undergarment that is thin and leaves little to the imagination, often eaten by accident although not always oral.

And this isnt the good, I'm ganna go carve a masterwork thong out of steel kind of crazy, its the you have to be locked in a room and given pills kind of crazy...

(Shivers at thaught of steel thong)
