Modding section is now a lot better with some subforums for organizing stuff - I think we should do same thing for this board. Especially stories tend to drown into succession forts, so it would be nice to get three subforums: succession games, community forts and stories. What do you think?

Personally, I think this would help. Haven't been on here in a long time, so it's rather confusing with all of the games going.

I think that subdividing the forum in more subfora should only be done if it really solves a problem, otherwise it will just make the forums harder to navigate (especially for newbies that are not familiar with the difference between things like community games and succession games).
Also, having to check three different forums for updates instead of one, would only make it less efficient (for me).

The OP states that certain types of threads get lost between the others in the current situation, the presented alternative however may cause certain types of stories to end up in hard to find forum sections that nobody reads.

Ditto. As ling as all the threads made it over, I fully support this

Putting all the old threads in the correct forums would be a pain.

Good points above.

Regardless, think it's a good idea. +1

I don't think subdividing the modding forum lead to obscurity for parts of it, and it's the smaller of these two (by post count). Furthermore it's not really productive to keep things mixed so they're read more. If most of the viewers aren't really looking for it, and in a subforum there would be more viewers (due to fewer threads in subforum overall) looking for that sort of thing even if fewer overall, the latter is better.

There is one extra benefit for the threads themselves. We have some super-threads that keep pushing lesser ones (by activity) back. Having subforums would reduce this issue as there would be more than one front page.

Old threads and things that don't cleanly fit into one of the established genres could remain in the main directory as in modding. Updates are easily visible from the icon (to me).

Myself, I don't really care to read stories or communities as personal preference, so for me this would be sweet. However, it depends on whether most people are looking for a specific thing or not. Hence the if above. Could make it a poll.

I think it's ok as is. Usually I just lurk new threads with interesting title and read and join them ocassionally, and this gets really harder if you have three subforums instead of one. No one would get to story section inthis case.
What would be really useful for this subforum is having the list of all games you're currently taking part in. Some kind of "Favorites" list in user's profile. With turn-list table for sucession games, or link to complete story generated from all thread starter's posts from this thread for stories.... uh, I think I'm asking for too much. "Favorites" is enough.

Just increase the number of threads per page in your account settings if you're troubled with interesting threads dropping from the first page.
Actually, to me it seems that modding board got a little bit too separated with that list of subforums taking up half of the page.
And regarding this subforum, I never come here because I want to see exactly succession games or stories only. I just come and see what interesting is going on regardless of its genre.
