My  fortress was wiped out by goblins the sole survivor was my vampiric mayor locked in his office.
Once the goblins were gone I let him out to try and make tombs for the dead.
Over 100 dwarves were killed but I only got 3 ghosts.
Upon Slabbing them (Seemed quickest given how fast vampires move) I checked the units tab to find 3 more ghosts.

Is this a known occurrence or have I found something note?

I am using the latest version of Genesis Reborn.

Ghosts don't all show up at once.  Two dwarves killed at the same time will normally come back as ghosts at different times depending, i think, on their personality traits.
