This is my nice lava pump, it is one of many nice things in my most recent fortress. It takes magma from bedrock to the surface.

Are those thing linked into gears steam engines or something?

Also, I like how there is a trees in your magma reservior.

Yeah the pump itself is a stack around ~170 levels with some auxiliary pumps that ensure the main pump always has access to lava and one that pumps from the reservoir to my magma rain trap. It take 3337 to power and produces little FPS drop from when I turned it on until it filled that massive reservoir, the steam engines hooked up to it provide twice that amount of power but I realised early on they can be unpredictable so most of its redundancy. The pumps are split into 3 different circuits though each powering its own auxiliary pump into the main system so the main pump doesn't drain away the entire supply from the engines powering it, yes this happened and it was annoying as shit. Also those are some hardy trees.

Yeah it's Genesis mod, it's a building that requires flowing water and magma to produce power. Useful but they need to be stoked for maximum output and blow apart if built with inferior materials, which I found out painfully. 30-40 dwarves probably died digging the shaft.
