About their only assets are that lashers and archers in groups can be dangerous.  Mass attacks with weapons that can penetrate/harm through armor will eventually not be blocked.  And once crippled/passed out a dwarf can then quickly be bludgeoned to death.

Yup, for sure.  I've had a few legendary soldiers get knocked down by lashers.  Luckily, each time there were enough allies nearby to prevent the killing blow.

I think their morale did break after the death of the trolls and first goblins he knocked out with the hammer. If the leaders don't wear any better armour, then it makes sense now why he fell to the steelclad hammerlord. I figured they were about equals. That caused all the rest and the dangerous animals to start fleeing.

Those lashers and and elite marksgoblin came the next time. They are definitely the most valuable units they have. Still didn't cause too many problems. The other problem seems to be goblins get the second shot almost always against the melee units. And that is often too late.

If you remove pet tags from other cave creatures and remove goblins' propensity to use evil creatures, will goblins always bring cave dragons? Also, can they be made to bring regular dragons if you add the same tags to it as cave dragons?

It only happens if that particular civ has/had a noble who went to the caverns and trained dragons.

Gen a really long world and hope that a goblin civ trains war cave dragons.

Look through legends for a goblin noble who went to an underground region and tamed cave dragons. It's also much more common in 1050+ worlds
