The world has passed into the age of... Cave Crocodiles!

I just embarked on a new world and I notice that when I am assigning embark points, I'm flipping back and forth between the "item" tab and a "cave crocodile" tab (instead of the usual "dwarves").

When I embark, the game is paused and a message pops up saying "The world has passed into The Age Of Cave Crocodiles. Press Enter to close window.

I'm so confused.... I have no dwarves, only crocodiles.

Welcome to Australia.

I fully expect your raws to be broken, by the way. Have you messed with them?

This usually indicates that the RAW files have been modified or messed with and one or more entries were duplicated.

This causes DF to do strange things - such as make dwarves in crocs, wooden drinks, etc.  Probably not playable.

Yeah. In c_variation_default.txt, under

[CREATURE_VARIATION:ANIMAL_PERSON] and
[CREATURE_VARIATION:ANIMAL_PERSON_LEGLESS]

I added

[CV_REMOVE_TAG:UBIQUITOUS]
[CV_REMOVE_TAG:FREQUENCY]
[CV_NEW_TAG:FREQUENCY:5]

I was trying to get the number of beastpeople down to a more reasonable number.

I also switched kicking to a dwarf's main unarmed attacked (away from punching) in creature_standard.txt.

No other changes.

Yeah, these cave croc dwarf hybrids don't do anything other then the fishercroc spams "cannot fish"

I can move em around by using meeting areas. They don't want to cross the river though. They are non tame animals on the animal screen.

Now they are tantruming, but they can't start fist fights because they are "too injured."  I presume that means they lack fists.  They did manage to destroy the wagon though.

Gotta love Crocodile Fortress, man.

Rather than fix it, suggest you add [GRASP] to [BODY:MOUTH] and [INTELLIGENT] to cave crocodiles. Maybe [EQUIPS] too.

I can push em around using meeting areas. I've had a cave croc vs giant louse fight (louse got trounced) and a cave croc vs giant tiger fight. The giant tiger tore off the croc tail and ran away with the tail in it's mouth! Dinner!

How do I add [GRASP] to [BODY:MOUTH]? I did equip and intelligent.

Go to save raws -> body_default.txt, find [BODY:MOUTH] and add [GRASP] after [MOUTH].
