hey all I had just built my second story on to my tower. I am having difficulties in constructing an interior wall on this new floor. Why can I not build a wall on this floor? As always, thanks in advance

You can't build construction on the tile where another construction is already present. But you can build wall on empty space attached to floor, or floor automatically created by wall being built on level below.

so I remove existing floors where I want my wall,, go one level down and build walls below where I want walls above? walls create a floor on the level above, then?

Yes, walls make a floor that can be built on on the level above.
But you don't need to do that second step; just remove the floors and build the walls over the empty space.
