More designs, actually. The entire concurrention system doesn't work.
I bet you meant competition system? :)

Once again I run afoul of the fact that you can't just take a dutch word, replace the last 2/3 letters, and have an English word.

But yeah, UR is right.

Ah, okay. What's the main problem with the current system for that exactly?

1) There's no formalized system. There're a few guidelines, but a significant amount still falls on me.
2) Effort required increases exponentially as more design are added.

Well, put in some sort of checklist/comparison for any ships competing in a system? If it falls out of those it doesn't gain much market traction, and does so too far from current demands, is considered a flop?

Right, create a formalized system if one does not exist.  You might even be able to find a similar game somewhere and "borrow" its mechanics.

Do you by chance know of a similar game, Taricus?

Me? I don't think so...

Anyway, how's it going on getting that competition thing done and sorted Ebbor?

Not good. As in, I actually gave up on it bad.

Truly, at this point I see only 1 option, which is scrapping the entire system and starting anew.

That means starting a new game entirely, doesn't it?

Hrmm. Well, you could start a new game, and then put in class distinctions, and any vessels within that class need to be within a specific size range.

Corvette, fighter, cruiser, destroyer, etc.

You should be able to find those pretty easily.

Do you have a direction for the new system, ebbor?

Alright, I've thought up a couple of solutions to that little dilemma Ebbor, and I'll list them here:

Trials: Put the ships competing for a contact into a direct comparison with one another, and have a check-list of what stats a ship meeds in order to pass the requirement. The ship with the highest score wins the contract for the designing company, if it passes the requirements. Also add in a few "Preferred" checks as well, such as FTL being a plus or such.

Outside help: AKA round up a few people, ask them to be the "Judges" for the designs and let them pick the one that suits their needs. I'd also say you'd need to show them the adverts for the ships as well, since that could likely sway minds as well.

Can you please confirm, ebbor, whether or not you are going to continue this game in some fashion?  For me, a continuation of the current unknowing would be harder than simple confirmation of the ending of this game.
