Soldier (No reachable valid target). What am i missing?
« on: July 06, 2013, 07:03:13 pm »

So here is the situation, i'm currently under siege by some goblins, and i have my marksdwarfs on top of my wall behind a fortification, i'm new to this game but as far as i read about it, marksdwarfs should be able to shoot through fortifications right?

This is where im shooting from.

This is the goblin whom i issued a kill order on, just so it would show the unreachable target message instead of Defend burrow.

Any ideas as why i'm getting unreachable valid target?

When you set a kill order on a target, dwarves take it as an order to engage in melee.

Dwarves with crossbows will shoot at hostiles whether they're active or not. They don't always do it as soon as they get line of sight, and I think that goblin is just a little too far out of range.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
