Chronicling Duplicated RAWs
« on: June 28, 2013, 07:19:50 pm »

Most of you are probably familiar with the fact that the "logical" part of the game breaks down whenever the RAW files are duplicated. So, I propose that we duplicate a number of the RAWs and load them up in DF, and see just how deep the rabbit hole goes. To qualify, you must duplicate at least one RAW file, and then chronicle the game for one year of Dwarf Mode, two quests of Adventure Mode, or until the game crashes, whichever comes first. Then, submit a summary of whatever happened onto this thread.

No, RAWs duplicate in a perfectly logical way. It "shifts" all creatures "down" by one--as in, by order of raws. If you dupe TOAD, everything will change. If you dupe GIANT_AARDVARK, it probably won't be as much.

Ah, I was not aware of that.
EDIT: Actually, wouldn't that mean that the game will "break" in the same way each time? If so, it should be possible to actually find all the various combinations and record them.

I once had a fort of humans which was working fine, but they ate something simply named "cave fish woman" and there were giant mite FBs (They didn't even count as FBs and they were all exactly the same) underground.
