Modding non-gameplay things

Is it possible to mod other things of Dwarf Fortress besides the gameplay-related things, like modding the main menu/title screen to change the way it looks for example?

there is only one thing That I know you can edit, and that is the embark messeage, you know the one that says "You and your seven have arrived here at fortressname secure some lodgings ere the large predator gets hungry"

and you need to use the WTF editor (Weird Text Editor) which is run through command line when you dl it

you will have to prowl the DFFD for it, as its an old utility.

It's possible to modify most of the text on the titlescreen* by editing the "index" file, but that's also "encrypted" (presumably to make it harder for people to modify/remove the copyright text, though it's a very weak algorithm that only took me a few minutes to reverse-engineer) in addition to using the "weird text format".

* "Slaves to Armok:  God of Blood"
* "Chapter II: Dwarf Fortress"
* the blue copyright text at the bottom
* the version number
* the Copyright statement on the "About DF" page (but nothing else)
* the welcome message on the "Create New World" page
* the game modes you can choose - "Dwarf Fortress", "Adventurer", "Legends", and "Reclaim Fortress"

You can also replace words in the string dump. Just have a look at the masterwork df main menu, it does look different from vanilla df.

Fortbent mod has also changed basically everything from the main menu and fortress-arrival text.
