I'll take the opportunity to point out that Crusader Kings II is $5 cheaper than this game today.

But if you are interested in this game as something basic to do while watching TV, Steam is offering Knights of Pen and Paper for two thirds of the price.

Did this game murder your parents while twirling its evil little moustachioes, or what? You are giving off crazy-ex girlfriend vibes; and as someone who bought it, I can say that it is decent enough that it clearly is not an intentional rip-off. You just didn't like it. I thought it was quirky and okay.

I'm just glad that cyberstalking has given you some additional hours of unconventional gameplay.

If this game had murdered my parents and laughed evilly, at least I would be able to say it accomplished what it set out to do.

What if this game had been a time-traveller from a dystopian future where all videogames are hybrids of the CYOA and tabletop genres, a future in which these games had become self-aware and enslaved human society, and now sought to eliminate the one vocal critic in the distant past who could have stopped their ruthless evolution toward dominion over mankind... but they miscalibrated the flux capacitors in their time machine and killed your parents after you were already born, thus failing what they had set out to do?

Had that ever even occurred to you? Pitiful fool! Even now, another self-aware copy of 7GS is hurtling through the gap in space-time, intent upon silencing your courageous and dogged resistance.

If the future of the "tabletop" genre is this, it is my sacred duty to defeat it at any cost. I will rally an army from BoardGameGeek.com to stop this menace. First, however, I will need to unite the warring Catan tribes - truly a herculean feat considering the question "Is it actually any good?" still wages on to this day.

I thought Grakelin's analysis post was really solid.  Also I hadn't realized Ticket to Ride was on Steam, I'll have to get it next time it's on sale.
