Introduction
If you hang out in the forum games section, chances are you may have seen one of my games taking place on a planet called Gelduzmorn. Said games are generally short-lived, confusing, text-heavy, and poorly planned. One of the reasons of this is that I've not got all the information on the setting, cultures, societal norms, and such written down somewhere, and as such, cannot get much of a coherent game set up. The goal of this topic is to stockpile all this info and to be able to direct someone to it if the situation should arise that the info I've given to my players is insufficient. So, let's begin:

Timeline
However, before we start the timeline, information on the time itself is needed. Gelduzmorn's years are referred to as AL, or after-landing, and BL, for before-landing. Said years last 427 days, and those days last approximately 31.91 hours. To stay away from decimals, the days are split into ten newhours, and then those split into sixty newminutes, and then to 60 newseconds. Not very creative, but it was made on short notice. Anyways, the months are split evenly into eight different months in addition to a period of time that consists of what days did not fit into the months. Now then!

<0, Kingman System
The planet of Gelduzmorn formed in the Kingman system, a system with one sun. Said sun is younger than ours and was originally given the name "Kingman". There are seven planets orbiting the sun.
The closest to the sun, a white, slightly-smaller-than-Earth, rocky planet, obtained the name Icarus shortly after Gelduzmorn was forcibly colonized, not that most people will know why if you ask them. It is not close enough to the sun to have a molten surface, but is still is dangerously hot. It also lacks both an atmosphere and any resources of interest.
The second planet from the sun, named Daedalus, is both not nearly as hot as Icarus and possesses an atmosphere. It has somewhat orange ground, but the Iodine-rich atmosphere tints the planet just slightly violet, ultimately making it look a purplish-reddish-brown. Also of note is its moon, Ovid. Ovid is small, irregularly shaped, and gray. Even fewer people presently know why they were named these names.
Thirdly is Gelduzmorn, named after the ship that landed on the planet and the time of day at which the first man stepped onto the planet. Before landing, it had only deserts, oceans, and arctic areas near the poles. Before its earth was covered in plant life and pollution, it appeared somewhat bluish-purplish, due to high quantities of fluorite. Another, much more useful, resource it has is a large quantity of silver. On the other hand, it is lacking in iron, and gold is almost unheard of. The atmosphere before society came was almost Earth-like, but not enough to sustain human life, having insufficient nitrogen and too much oxygen. The oceans are a bit more acidic than Earth, but are still mostly water. The moons that control these oceans are known simply as Red and Cyan, having barely had enough time to be given fancier names. They get called after their colors, although some cultures have other names for them. Cyan, the smaller one, is theorized to have split off from one of Gelduzmorn's more fluorite-heavy areas. Red, on the other hand, might have come from Daedalus.
Fourth is a yellow gas giant called Caesar. It is the last of the planets named after a before-landing person or character. Its only moon of any interest is Brutus, a lead-gray ball of rock that supposedly has a vast supply of various radioactive elements, particularly Thorium 232.
Fifth is an frozen methane planet called Nonvit (KNOWN-vitt). It is the smallest of them all.
Sixth is another gas giant, this one a pine green, called Lecinel (LAY-chin-ale). It is the largest of the planets.
Last is a rocky planet known as Avinye (Aeh-VIN-yeh), a planet which, if the samples acquired are correct, has huge reserves of gold.

That essentially sums up conditions before landing.

More will be added, this is a WIP.

21st Century, Our Solar System
Moon Colony
On October 17, 2021, the US made an attempt to set up a small colony on the moon. The technology had been developed and tested, albeit in special facilities on Earth. One-hundred and fifty people, half male and half female, were chosen for the trip. Of those people, 90 of them were talented construction workers, most of that group being otherwise completely normal people. 30 more of them were people with expertise in the field of horticulture. The remaining 30 were people of various other professions, this group being of higher class than the ones chosen for construction and agriculture. The colony was set up far enough from the poles that the colony would have to rely on trade with the US or allied nation in order to acquire water with efficiency. They brought with them 30 quick-to-assemble makeshift housing units, a quarter of the materials to assemble a Hexwall4SMx2V1.1, enough rations for six months, 125 suits for the workers to wear, many tons of soil, and machinery to assist the workers in building the Hexwall.
The construction took three years in total, a good portion the second at a standstill due to a lack of materials for the workers to use. The housing that the colonists lived in before the full colony was established was simple and each house held five people. It was crowded, unenjoyable, and nobody was allowed to leave their house. When work was finished, the structure finished being filled up with air, and trees planted to cycle the air system, a sizable chunk of the population had gone insane, some had been murdered, and others simply died, reducing the total population to fewer than 100 people. The people who survived had begun to distrust their government. Nonetheless, they began to build and farm, replenishing the lost population in the process and slowly building their trust back up. They would not linger in a stable situation for long.
During a period of time where water became difficult to come across, they were approached by a wealthy individual named Troy Brookes who would supply them with what they needed if they would do what he said. He sent illegal shipments of supplies to the colony, keeping it alive. He emphasized the worst of the US's actions and soon revitalized the hatred towards the country. On May 11th, 2027, the colony ceased contact with the United States and any of its allies. It was under his control, now. He was their leader on Earth.
Soon, he ordered the colony behave aggressively to other attempts at colonization, stealing materials and abducting or killing passengers. The colony saw expansion using the components of newer makes of Hexwalls. Stolen machines replaced the outdated ones and the older models became scrap material. More and more land became farmland. Gunsmithing factories opened up in the downtown sections of town. Citizens produced their own arms. The more the US hated them, the more the colony prospered. However, one day, a raid went wrong. The colonists who attacked were successfully fought off. The survivors of the raid turned back around to spread the news.
The US had of course been suspicious of the lack of contact between itself and the newer colonists. However, the only thing they did about it was to send future colonists with arms in case anything was going on. As soon as they learned of what the colony had been doing, though, the US immediately ceased to send colony ships. Without the flow of resources, the colony turned back to Troy. Troy told them to start producing weapons that could hit Earth in order to get him sending supplies again. In the spring of 2033, a missile was launched at a small town in the middle of Alaska. While it did not hit its mark, it got the government defensive. The US became more aggressive with its rivals on Earth. They started more wars and made more enemies. Another missile got sent from the colony, hitting Anna, Texas. The United States were now piecing together that the opponent was not on Earth’s soil. Even more missiles were launched, each targeted at a small city. Soon, they found the colony to be behind this destruction. Without consulting any of its remaining allies, it sent a colony ship containing a nuclear missile to the colony. The ship was piloted by an artificial intelligence and was sent to crash into the Hexwall built above downtown. The ship made it to its destination, smashing the wall and leaving the colony irradiated and without air. Troy Brookes may have died there while on a business trip, but his goals were accomplished. He had ignited something nightmarish on Earth.

By the way, I would love for you to discuss this. I forget things when I'm not constantly alerted to them.

Please tell me if there's anything you don't understand about my setting, too. I'm willing to answer questions and even make corrections to my work if it's something I should fix. Next update'll be kinda short.
