I've got a turkey hen pastured in a 1x1 pasture on top of a -copper nest box- (built, not just the item) but a few months later, it remains unclaimed.  What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes they can go quite a while in between laying eggs.
Maybe she's laid one before somewhere else?

Is collection of the eggs actually blocked? If turkey eggs are allowed on any one of your stockpiles, dwarfs will go and collect them the moment they're laid. Similarly, if eggs are an allowed food ingredient in your kitchen menu (which they are by default), the cook can decide to go and pick up the turkey eggs from the nestbox to throw into a roast.

Try making a 3x3 pasture around the next box instead - I think the hen needs to actually move onto the square with the box in it to claim it and start laying eggs.

Well... couldn't hurt to check: do you have a turkey gobbler?

EDIT: Oop, just realised males are only needed for the eggs to hatch :/
