encrusted ammo ?

Is their any gain from covering your arrows with those shiny rocks that I dug up or are they better suited for furniture and windows ?

We must raise money. DF needed a legal defense fund eventually anyway. Concerned parents will find us eventually.

No military gain, only economic. Save gem for encrusting furniture or exporting goods. For windows, see the wiki

Pure bragging fuel.  That's it.

Goblin 1: "Yeah, forget that place.  Bob went to sack that place last week."
Goblin 2: "What, they had nothing worth taking?"
Goblin 1: "Wrong in the worst way.  They shot him before he could get close."
Goblin 2: "So?  That's part of the hazard doing this sort of work."
Goblin 1: "Well, the bolt was made out of solid gold, had diamonds in it, and menaced with spikes of silver and platinum."
Goblin 2: "Hrrnnnng?!"
Goblin 1: "Right.  If they were shootin' us with something like that..."
Goblin 2: "I couldn't imagine the stuff they bother to keep."
Goblin 1: "Yeah, but my point is they got that stuff 'cause they've been managing to hold onto it."
Goblin 2: "Sod it."

Encrust your ammunition with pitchblende for DU bolts. Cinnabar for mercuric bolts. Generic stone to get rid of useless boulders. Spikes on me bolts.

Spikes on me bolts.

Are you a cat?

Sometimes I'll see Dwarves firing a migrant's *<*Silver Bolts*>* [25], and when I check the description it's better decorated than most of my artefacts :(

Would setting up an ammo stockpile and forbidding said arrows at least add to room value? I have lots of cheap iron for bolts, thank you very much.

If you have sand, done with glass, it's a good way to level up your gem cutter and gem setter.

No, only furnitures/buildings counts to increase value room.

A pity that the menacing spikes don't do any extra damage.
