Cleaning question (waterfall)
« on: June 16, 2013, 08:44:42 pm »

A 1-wde waterfall +1z flowing through diagonal space to dinging/meeting hall dropping through a grate to an area below 5 wide, extending to the map edge for water drainage.

The source of the water is the same level +1z above the meeting room (from a stream). No pumps are present. source is also 1-wide.

The grate in the dining room is properly alligned to allow the water to flow down.

I unfortunately didnt think to build a bridge to allow turning the flow off  :(

Anyways, I let it go and all was well. Came back shortly after and theres a huge pool of mud and 1/7 water collecting in the hall and running down several flights of stairs. I caught it before it flooded any area luckily.

I had to construct additional grates in the following pattern:

GGG
GO
GGG

Where G is new grate, and O is original grate.

This solved my water issues but left mud all over the place.

Now, dwarves are attempting to clean O, but not any of the other tiles. The dwarves are cancelling clean due to dangerous tile.

I had to lay flooring to clean up the mud, because on the edges where dwarves rarely walked it started growing trees and such  :(

Now I have no more mud problem, but still occasionally get the cancel clean due to dangerous tile message.

Any assistance?
