What to do about Suspended Bridges?
« on: March 08, 2007, 04:20:00 pm »

Hi there, what are you supposed to do when a bridge gets suspended? I cant seem to figure out how to unsuspend it... and how does one prevent this from happening in the first place? Thanks!

Hit 'T' to be able to select the bridge.  You can then unsuspend or delete it.  Generally, if 'Q' doesn't work to select an object, 'T' will work.  'T' works for bridges, roads, floodgates, channels, etc.

One reason why bridges get suspended is interruption by animals.  Unsuspend the bridge and the dwarf will get back to work.

Another possible reason is that one of the materials you've selected to build the bridge is inaccessible.  It may be stuck behind a floodgate or a locked door or something.  In that case, you'll need to either make the materials accessible (unlock the door, etc), or cancel the bridge and build it again selecting different materials.

after hitting [t] over the bridge, hit to toggle the suspend/unsuspend job.

(You might want to suspend a job on your own if you saw elephants coming and you didn't want your road consructing dwarves to become tusk-kebobs.)
