http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2012:Animal_trainer

This will tell you what creatures can be trained for war.

You can also easily make any creature trainable for war with a simple raw edit. War penguins ftw.

I modded it so all animals are tameable and trainable. Beware the warcats and war lambs!

That page is out of date, looks like. It leaves out some trainable animals (mostly giant versions of some it does list). Don't have time to fix it now, but maybe later.

The only ones I see that are missing right now are the giant bobcat, lynx, and ocelot. Were there any others you noticed?

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Is there a way to check it in the game's files somehow?

edit: also, do chained wild animals(giant crow) attack goblins?

the raw will have the [trainable] tag except all caps.

EDIT: Keas restricted to tropical forests where they belong.  Those evil, EVIL, foul little things.

Edit: The baby murderer became a friend of the fortress, which started a loyalty cascade, and now most of the squad is dead.

Unless it is a newer giant creature created through a creature variation (these creatures also usually have a *man form) in which case the [TRAINABLE] token will be located on the creature that it is a copy of.

And I've updated the trainer list to include the giant animals that I mentioned in my last post.
