It can be hard to keep track of what you asked for the caravan to bring, and what they'll pay extra for next time.  While it's not too much trouble to write it down, it seems like something the game should record for you, to me.

Only problem is, I'm pretty sure it goes away when the next caravan arrives, so you need to stock your trade depot beforehand if you don't write it down or remember what it is.
