[SKILL:PROCESS_PLANT]
« on: March 26, 2013, 02:52:39 pm »

I have created a reaction:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The problem is that it gets done almost instantly, when the reagent is in the building (even with skill level dabbling). It is not technically instantly done as if I pause just before the dwarf gets to the building with the reagent and press . until he actually gets there and starts the reaction, I can see that the reagent becomes TSK and it takes about 10-20 ticks to complete.

However if I change the SKILL to [SKILL:STONECRAFT], then the reaction takes time, like any other reaction.

Could someone explain to me why the normal farmers workshop reaction isn't done instantly too? Is there any way to look at the original reactions to compare my own to it?

Thanks!

You typoed on the skill. It's PROCESSPLANTS.

I... I don't know what to say. I have been trying to get this done for the past 2 days. I could kiss you. I could take you out to dinner, then dance the moonlight kind of kiss you.

I am tearing up, man.

Thank you! I can't thank you enough!

This is why we look at the errorlog!

Also, there are no original reactions; the farmer's workshop is purely hardcoded.

I did not think there was an error as the reaction worked. But yeah, the errorlog would have told me what I am missing too (Error(s) found in the file "raw/objects/building_masterwork.txt" Unrecognized Labor Token: PROCESSPLANTS).

Alright. Thanks for answering Putnam!

Just because it works doesn't mean there's no error! Just because your engine starts doesn't mean it doesn't have  a cat in it.

PROCESSPLANTS is a skill, while PROCESS_PLANT is a labor. Skills and labors are two completely different things and are not interchangeable.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
