Items in bins
« on: March 23, 2013, 09:44:17 pm »

Hey, I'm not a huge player of the Adventure mode so I was wondering (since I seem to remember hearing problems about it but I'm not 100% sure) if it's possible to store lots of toys in bins in fortress mode ready for when my Santa Claus adventurer picks them up?

(also, two minor other questions, has anyone got any good goto beginner guides for adventure mode for the simpleton? and also, are there any tools I can use to abandon my fort without everything being thrown about everywhere? I'm sure i've heard of something that will do it, I just cant remember what, if im not mistaken anyway ;P)

The wiki is the best goto place for all your questions. Only ask on the forums if you can't find an answer elsewhere.
I believe DFHack's lair command is what you're thinking of. It marks the map as a lair, so stuff doesn't get scattered.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Nah, it would be boring if everyone did that. Besides, the wiki does not always seem clear, and there even may be some wrong info here or there.

Heavy bins is what you are looking for. The heavier is the object, the less it will be scattered. Lead works well.
Items inside of a bin will stay there, only the bin will be moved.

Well, I didn't really mean in context if questions like this one, but rather ones like "how do i put boots on?" which are mildly irritating because ten seconds of searching will tell you to wear them.
