disregard, OP is dumb
« on: March 21, 2013, 07:31:14 pm »

So I think I found a new thought. I couldn't find it on the face of the internet, so I thought I'd let you fine fellows know.

"She became caught up in a new romance recently" I found this through the DFHack labor manager (which is amazing by the way), seeing two dwarves with incredibly high happiness (350ish, when the third highest was 136).

Both dwarves have this thought in their thought history.

"Ablel Lolokugut... ...became caught up in a new romance recently"
img
Uvash Tulonbetan... ...became caught up in a new romance recently"
Both dwarves are also list as lovers in each other's relationship page.

e: Wow I'm dumb. I never saw the message anywhere because I was searching with the wrong message. aaaagh

Thoughts? I can't remember ever seeing a relationship start in a fort before. The occasional marriage, sure, but not this.

It's pretty common in my forts and saved me from a couple of tantrum spirals. Just wait till one has a baby- then you'll really see happiness skyrocket.

Edit: The baby murderer became a friend of the fortress, which started a loyalty cascade, and now most of the squad is dead.

It's moderately common, yes, although it used to be far more common before. Since historical figures are usually already hitched when they migrate to the fort now, unlike before, chances of people actually entering the "lovers" stage and not just being married, is pretty infrequent. That said, I suppose you should get that thought a bunch on subsequent generations of your fort, if it survives that long.

Inevitable, who cares. Now an onion...

This sentence terrifies me, for unknown syntactical reasons.

you'll pay for the new "happiness" the dwarves gained later though, in the form of baby/child grinders in order to get rid of the parasitic mini-nobles. Or at least payment in the form of effort (child-smasher bridge and slabs).
