It would probably get really hot too, right? Gold conducts heat well, right? Also it's nonreactive so you wouldn't have to worry about it contaminating your drinks like other metals would potentially. As for the weight, that's an added benefit: you can save time by exercising your arms and drinking at the same time.

Ah, yeah, let me just find that old sock where I put my $50,000. I would totally blow that money on a mug.

Actually, it wouldn't really be a waste of money. Think of it as an investment in gold. You can always melt down your mug and sell it once the price of gold inevitably rises.

However, aluminum will leech into your drink and give you Alzheimer's.

Could this be the real reason Dorfs go after abandoned xX Sock Xx ?

Pitchblende mugs... that'd be something. Nothing like a little radioactive decay to spice up the morning fermented shroom juice.

Or you can take the easy route and make yourself a -lead mug-.
Not only it's soft and easy to cast, but it will sweeten your drinks, like in the old days!

Besides, you sell so many of them to elves already. They've got to be safe, right?

I, too, would go for a stone mug. We may even be able to make our own. There is a rock and gem club or three in my local area, I intend to sign on this next week, and hopefully learn something about stoneworking, and access to their equipment. I think the problem with a stone mug is that stone is often brittle and can fracture easily, so it may be difficult to produce. Maybe smaller vesicles could be made.
