I play DF since a long time, and beginning a new fortress i met a big problem, my dwarfs die of thirsty, so i abandonned the fortress and reclaim it, because i like the region, then when I restarted to play in this fortress my dwarfs die of thirsty two years later, reclaiming a third time, i construct 3 wells(i had do channels on the second time) but my dwarfs die again of thirst, i m on the fourth time reclaim and i alredy lost ~30 dwarfs of thirsty, and the rest is on the same way, but I dont understand, i have 600+ units of alcoohol, 5 wells with water, a lot of buckets and barrels, some dinning rooms, and my dwarfs dont want to drink!!!!
I have some supposions of why they refuse to drink:
-the fortress is too big, but the farming fields, food stockpiles, stills and dinning rooms are close.
-too many deaths?(i have ~80 empty coffins and a lot of corpes on the map.

Someone have a solution for me? Or my fortress is hanted? ^^

PS: I'm on a cold region
PS2: sorry for my english ^^

if it's cold and the drinks are outside, they may be frozen. I'm not sure how the freezing/thawing of liquids in barrels works. loo(k) at the barrels, press enter and it may say there is frozen stuff inside

you might have broken the pathfinding by removing a stairs or ramps somewhere or wih burrows, even forbidding a door will do it

are you using any mods?

If noone has any suggestions that help, upload a save. If you're just using vanilla (no mods) I can take a look at it today

Yes i use masterwork mod.
15 min ago, 12 dwarfs die of thirst in 5 min, and now the remains have no more the blue arrow of thirsty, but are very unhappy.
But i dont understand, i have 600 more units of drink and a lot of wells, is much more sufficient to have 40 dwarfs!!

yeah, so something is wrong, most likely something you did is wrong. That is not an accusation, just general experience with the game

Check if the dwarfs that died could really reach the booze. Don't say ofcourse, please check, you'll be amazed how often that is the mistake even with experienced players. Also really look at the booze if it is really not frozen. Do a manual check, do you really have that much booze? maybe a caravan was ambushed and the cargo is around, but still forbidden. Do you have a bookkeeper making accurate records? If not, you may not actually have that much booze.

As long as you can't rule out some stuff, provide as much info as you can, this is the best I can think of

Burrows, locked doors, unusable ramps, and bridges in the wrong position are other common things to check.

You could be suffering from a lack of containers.  Only one dwarf can drink from a container or well at a time so if you have 30 dwarves go to drink something and only 10 barrels of booze 20 dwarves must wait.  Combine this with long paths and dwarves waiting until the last second to decide to get a drink and you can produce situations very much like the one you describe.

If you're having a widespread problem with dwarfs being very unhappy, it's possible that those who died of thirst went insane (melancholy or raving versions, you'd notice berserkers more easily) and simply neglected their needs until they perished.

i had a problem with this recently, had a weaver die of thirst, everything else was set up fine, it was impossible to find out exactly what killed him, but since it only happened once, I'm guessing he had a mood and i didn't notice.

if it's happening regularly, you could have other problems, most common causes are:
1: insane dwarf, those will refuse to eat/drink and eventually starve, this commonly happens with failed moods and general misery, a dwarf that's miserable too long will eventually go insane, and then refuse food
2: idiot mason walls himself in, or miner digs a hole he cant walk out of
3: food stockpile outside in a freezing biome, dwarves cant drink ice

in a cold biome it can be important to have food stockpiles and wells underground, a surface well will also freeze during winter and then we again have the problem that we cant drink ice

If it's cold enough to freeze booze, you're going to have more problems than thirst - alcohol freezes at such low temperatures that your dwarfs will be in danger of death from exposure. In a 'normal' freezing biome, alcoholic drinks are still liquid and can be consumed. Frozen booze won't be displayed under 'drinks' anyway - frozen materials are generally listed under 'glob', and booze is no exception.

Edit: although there's one possibility on an embark where alcohol freezes outdoors: the dwarfs will remove frozen alcohol from barrels and bring it to the nearest food stockpile, and the kitchen will consider it a different object from liquid booze, so a cook may try to make a meal with the frozen booze. Problem is, it tends to thaw in an underground kitchen, causing a job cancellation and leaving you with an un-contained booze stack that cannot be moved or drunk. Such booze will still be counted among your beverages, but the dwarfs will not drink it.

Actually, the freeze/thaw process changes it from a "drink" into a "misc liquid", and that change would very likely make it not show up in your Status screen (and it might even make dwarves ignore it when it's stored in barrels).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
